Basketball is no doubt one of the world's most famous sports. Professional basketball players are considered as famous celebrities much more if they are playing with great skills and intensity. Aside from the talent, basketball players are sometimes getting famous because of their height (small or big) and how it affects their play at the basketball court.

At the NBA, you will notice and see lots of players with towering height and might. They play the center position and often times they handle the rebounding and defensive department. The offense is there but the main thing for them is protecting the board and the basket. This is what Manute Bol, a 7'7 baller, did during his pro career at the NBA league.

If there are giants, there are also basketball players who played in the NBA whose height are below 5'7. Can't believe it? You must! Who can forget the skills and guts of Muggsy Bogues who stand's at 5'3 but lasted for 14 years in the NBA league. With that height, if he ain't skilled enough, he won't even finish a season playing for the teams he landed in.

Pau Gasol May Ask For Trade If D’Antoni and Dwight Howard Return To LA

We all know that Pau Gasol is not really getting satisfied with his role in LA, but is it bad enough for him to ask for a trade? Maybe, and no wonder if it is because of his strained relationship with his head coach Mike D’Antoni could be the main reason.

The two met a few weeks ago to try to hash out their differences.

“It’s hard to know personalities if you don’t get in touch with them,”
“It was an effort on our part to try and come to an understanding,” Gasol said. “But I don’t think it’s translated to an understanding. Nothing significant has happened; it’s probably even gone a little backwards.”

According to the LA Times report, Jim Buss said D’Antoni told him that Gasol was happy and that he was saving his knees in efforts to prolong his career. Gasol’s response:

“Never heard that,” he said.

Then Times reporter TJ Simers dropped the bomb.

“If this coach stays and Dwight Howard remains with the Lakers,” I asked, “what about you?”
“It would be hard for me to deal with another season knowing the facts you just mentioned,” said Gasol, 32 and with one year remaining on his contract.
“So do you ask for a fresh start elsewhere?”
“It’s a possibility,” he said, “yes.”

Gasol did say he is not a quitter and would still prefer to remain in LA.

There is bviously a disconnect between Gasol and D’Antoni. It’s the head coach’s job to learn how to effectively utilize his personnel, and obviously he hasn’t been able to do that even with two of the league’s elite center at his disposal.

Obviously it is a very solid line up for each team and you can’t just easily tell who’s team has an edge or advantage to win. What I just don’t agree in this list is that there are some player whom I think more deserving and should be really in this list of all star, compare to some player listed here. One of them is Brook Lopes of New Jersey Nets whom I think the best center right now in this season, just look at his stats right now and the way he play, he’s totally an all star caliber. Another one whom  I believe deserves to be in the all star game too is  Stephen Curry.  He’s one of the best scoring point guard right now. Anyway It’s just my opinion though it’s not the list that I’m expecting, this roster team  will still surely going be exciting! Damn I really can’t wait for this all star showdown!

NBA Sports PR Campaign Comes to London

London’s O2 Arena recently played host to its third NBA fixture as the Detroit Pistons turned out 87-102 losers to the New York Knicks on January 17th. This trend of American franchises playing one-off League fixtures in the United Kingdom was started by the NFL in 2007.
It’s no secret this was a major sports PR opportunity for the franchises involved with the NBA Commissioner David Stern stating, ' Historic franchises like the Knicks and Pistons...provide extraordinary opportunities to further the game's growth and development in the UK and throughout Europe.'
However, even after achieving a sell-out crowd, it is still being questioned whether the wider British public have been sold on Basketball as a leading spectator sport in the UK.

The New York Knicks are one of the top basketball teams in the world, boasting top names like Olympic Gold medallist Carmelo Anthony on their team sheet, providing the club with a great position from which to activate a strategic PR campaign for growing their supporter base in the UK.
In addition, following on from successful UK based fixtures in past, the NBA had already established strong media relations contacts to encourage publicity around the games in the UK and grow interest in the sport as a whole.

The media campaign around the event also involved a successful celebrity PR drive with guests on the night including Misha B, Alexandra Burke and a number of Premiership footballers including former ex-Arsenal professional Thierry Henry. World famous Knicks fanatic Spike Lee also proved a hit receiving much UK press exposure which proved an effective angle for positive coverage given Spike Lee’s strong affiliation with Arsenal FC, creating common ground amongst sports fans in the British public.

Is it all just a distraction?
Aside from the supposed benefits of increased interest and support from the UK thanks to PR exercises around the event, some are beginning to question whether the players considered the game an unwelcomed distraction to their intensive schedule. Pre-match, the Pistons camp raised light concerns over their schedule with Austin Daye publically stating before the game "It's cool to get out of the country and see something new. But it does wear on the body a little bit. Hopefully, we can recover.” The Pistons struggled to do so eventually losing the game by 15 points.
There have been mixed reviews about the event from the players and critics, for example as predicted the stadium was a sell-out however it was reported that the atmosphere wasn’t close to that of a generic NBA game with regular stretches of silence from the crowd. It’s no secret Basketball still remains a relatively niche sport within the UK and news of a £1.25m cut in their funding has not been encouraging.

Who’s Got The Best Fadeaway Move In Nba?

Let’s talk about fadeaway move in basketball. If you don’t know it yet, fadeaway is a kind of jump shot in basketball, doing it while jumping backward to avoid your defenders in blocking  your shot.. It’s one of the most used technique in basketball, but also one of the most hardest to do and probably not everyone can do this move. This technique is mostly use in one on one situation. A lot of great names in NBA today are very well known in this move like Dirk Nowitzki, Kevin Garnett, Kevin Durant, Dwayne Wade and of course Kobe Bryant.


There is always lot of talk and debate especially in many basketball forum of who’s really got the best and most deadliest fadeaway in nba? and when  this question are being ask? only two people are usually being talk in the list. That is Michael Jordan and Kobe Bryant, I’m sure everyone will agree to this especially if you’re really solid fan of NBA. Most people say that Kobe Bryant copied most of the best moves of Michael Jordan especially the fadeaway. Just watch it in YouTube and you’ll see why they said that because their shooting form and the way they shoot really looking the same, but I don’t believe it though,  I’m always a big fan of Kobe and  I always believe that he has his own style that no one can top.


For me there’s no doubt, Kobe Bryant really has best and most deadliest fadeaway move of all time not just in nba but in the whole world. Blake Griffin, The Real Life Hanamichi Sakuragi?

What can you say about this picture above? I’m totally sure that I’m not the only one here thinks that this NBA All Star Player Blake Griffin of Los Angeles Cliffers really has big resemblance to Hanamichi Sakuragi of Slam dunk anime/manga series. Especially to those people who’s both a big fan of NBA and Slam Dunk series like me, I’m sure they will think that this two guys really has big similarity. I don’t know but every time I watch Blake Griffin play he always remind me of Sakuragi, not just because they have the same hairstyle or same body build but also because of their style and way of playing are so much alike. If you do not know, Blake Griffin just like Sakuragi both also has an insane athletic ability that you will rarely see to anyone even in NBA. They are both a high flyer in terms of jumping ability and a monster dunker who just attacks the glass with reckless abandon. I can say that Blake Griffin is also one of the top 5 rebounders in NBA today just like Hanamichi who’s also a beast in terms of rebounding.

After Ray Allen, Now It’s Rashard Lewis going To The Miami Heat

Last one or two weeks ago we’ve heard some humor that the veteran sharpshooter of Boston Celtic’s Ray Allen is gonna leave his team to join the depending champion Miami Heat. At first it was just a big humor but a day later it was really confirmed by Ray Allen’s agent James tanner who said it to The Associated Press and also according to many trusted sources.
