Different Types of Pinoy Streetball Player Personality

I can say that basketball is really the most popular sports here in the Philippines. You can obviously notice that as almost every corner, streets or barangay here have their own basketball court to play. Anyway I just created this post because I just want to share this different types of personalities of Pinoy street basketball player that I encounter while playing with them.

Here are the list in no particular order :

• The Trash talker – For me this types of player is totally annoying but their actually the most common types that you will encounter in streetball. They will try to prove that they are better  while all they can only do is just pure trash talking. They’re just full of mouth, they will try to mock or provoke you to destroy your concentration in the game, so that they can win the game easily.

• The Energetic Newbie – I also call this type Sakuragi’s style. This player is really one of my favorite pick to be my teammate. They are the most tough, most intense and hardworking in the game. They’re stronger  physically but also the newbie or the one who don’t have much skill and experience in basketball which make them commit a lot of or mistakes or turnover. Usually they are only one dimensional player which is only good in rebounding, shot blocking or only in defense. But never underestimate this types because believe me they’re the one who improve or progress very fast in basketball.

• The Cheater – We all know that the main rule in street basketball  is to “call your own foul” and because of that this types of player is born. They will call a foul for nonsense reason or acting that they are hurt even though they’re not. They will try everything just to win game because this person hate to lose. They are really one of the most annoying player in the street basketball.

• The Anti Cheater – This player just existed just for the sake of stopping that damn cheater. But actually for me they’re just also irritating like a cheater. They hate being cheated, to the point that they always overreact and try to complain too much even though you call for a really honest foul. Just remember when this anti cheater and the cheater meet inside the court, expect a royal rumble or a fist fight! LOL!

• Mr. Sportsman – No doubt that this is really my most favorite types of player to play with, whether a team-mate or an opponent. They’re not bias, always nice, mature and have a big patience. They are also competitive and challenging as an opponent.

We all know that the Air jordan I, the first signature shoes of the legendary nba player Michael Jordan is totally one of the most popular shoes of all time. Because of that even the japanese manga author Takehiko Inoue was influenced by this shoes wordwide popularity and put it to his own very popular manga and anime series titled Slam Dunk. It was the second shoes used by the main character of this series named Hanamichi Sakuragi, which made this really one of my favorite shoes of all time.

After Ray Allen, Now It’s Rashard Lewis going To The Miami Heat

Last one or two weeks ago we’ve heard some humor that the veteran sharpshooter of Boston Celtic’s Ray Allen is gonna leave his team to join the depending champion Miami Heat. At first it was just a big humor but a day later it was really confirmed by Ray Allen’s agent James tanner who said it to The Associated Press and also according to many trusted sources. But it’s not just Ray Allen who officially join the depending champ this year but also another skilled shooter Rashard Lewis who is also reportedly agreed to join the team.

Last wednesday afternoon the Miami Heat officially introduced in the news conference their two newest member which is also a former Seattle Super Sonics team-mates Ray Allen and Rashard Lewis. Allen signed for the Heat which starts at $3.1 million this year and will total $9.5 million over his three year deal contract while Rashard Lewis agreed to signed a two year contract deal for the $1.35 million which is  the nba veteran's minimum salary.

The free agent three-point specialist Ray Allen of Boston is reportedly agreed  and accept the signing contract offer for him to play with the NBA Depending Champion Miami Heat. It was confirmed by Allen's agent, James Tanner and said to The Associated Press and also according to many trusted sources. Even though  Boston Celtics offered him a $12 million dollar contract for 2 years season plus a no trade clause, Ray Allen still chose to agree for the $3 million dollar per year offer by the Miami Heat.

Now the all-time leader in three pointers made will expected to play with the depending champion. The Miami Heat may really need Ray Allen this next season because one the main key player and sharp shooter Mike Miller is considering back surgery and also Wade is scheduled for minor knee surgery.

We all know that Ray Allen, through out his career is always been a big treat in three point perimeter  to every team that he’s facing. Now what do you think will happen if he started playing with the Miami heat, together with LeBron James, Dywane Wade, Chris Bosh on the floor, that would totally be a very formidable line up. Imagine the fact that every team that they will face should need to double team LeBron James or even Dwayne wade because of their scoring ability which is very dangerous now because Ray Allen is on the floor too. We all know that you can’t just leave this guy free especially in the three point area and the fact that Shane Battier and Mike Miller are on this team too even Chris Bosh is also an outside shooter specialist too.

Simple Steps to treat Sprain Ankle and Jammed Finger

We all know that basketball is totally a physical and  a very fast pace sport invented. Because of that it also make this sport very prone to different kind of injuries. The two most common injuries in basketball are sprain ankle and jammed fingers.
Here in this post, I just want to share a simple steps on how we can easily  treat and increase the time of recovery for this two most common injuries in basketball :

• Protect  -  We need to protect the injured area by making sure that  we make it steady by using a brace. It is more effective in jammed finger injuries.

• Rest – Of course this is important, we really need to rest the injured area to not worsen our injury.

• Ice – We must put an ice to the injured area to prevent or lessen the swelling and pain. Think is the key factor for us to really treat our injuries because ice acts an analgesic or pain reliever. It is better if we put an ice to our injured area once in an hour for 15 minutes and decrease the ice-intervals as time goes by.

Kevin Garnett Expected To Sign Another Three Year Contract to BostonCeltics

The 36 years old Kevin Garnett isn’t going to retire yet and expected to sign another contract for $34 million dollars in Boston Celtics for three years.  This is in contrast to some humor that KG may leave and not sign to the Boston Celtics anymore.
Kevin Garnett who averages 15 points and 8 rebounds this last season draw much interest for the other teams to pursue him to play on their team. But KG still put his loyalty to his Coach Doc Rivers which made him still consider to play with the Boston Celtics.

In my opinion KG really made a good decision for still playing for the Boston Celtics as well as the management of Celtics to give KG another contract. Just imagine what will may happen to the Boston Celtics if Garnett leave, obviously Kevin Garnett is totally a great player who has the heart and determination to win. His intensity and competitiveness during the game makes him one of few players that I really admired. It’s was proven  just this last season when they fought in the Eastern Conference Finals against this season champion Miami Heat which the Heat really had a hard time beating the Boston Celtics and came up with a seven game series.

We all know that Kevin Garnett  plays a big role in the success of Boston Celtics in this all recent years. The fact that we’ve seen that KG and Rajon Rondo really has a good chemistry as a tag team that’s why I still  want to see the two of them play together and maybe get their second championships rings too. So I really hope that Kevin Garnett still going to play with the Boston Celtic.
